I google this same thing over and over again for one client after another, so I finally decided, not only am I going to put all of this research in one place, but this is going to make me finally start the Let’s Make a Website Blog! How about them recurring event apples?

As you will run into time and time again, Squarespace is freaking fanstatic for small business owners in so many ways. The features are robust and you can do preeeeety much anything for your small biz from selling products online to booking appointments, to displaying portfolios. The one thing you can’t easily do? Create recurring events in a simple way. You also can’t easily sell tickets to an event without using another app - like EventBrite - and then copy/pasting the link into Squarespace… it’s just too many extra steps. There has to be a way to make this more efficient!

Lucky for us (and you) I’ve done some research. There are a bunch of plugins available that do the work for us. Here is my round up of Squarespace Event Calendar plugins that support recurring events… plus more.

Squarespace Calendar Plugins!

ElfSight

• $5 - $25/month 

• Looks pretty good - a few different view options. Installation also looks pretty snappy. I think you should check this one out and make sure it's got what you need.

EventCalendarApp

• If you throw a lot of events that sell tickets, this app looks like your all-in-one solution.

• It’s quite more expensive than the others - but it could replace the need for other apps (like eventbrite), since you can use it to directly take money, sell tickets etc.

• Beautiful display options

• $39-200/month

Google Calendar (duh)

• Ever heard of google?

• This cal is free and VERY easy to update. It can be embedded into any website.

• … but it is (ahem) ugly.

• You may wan to use it with… Tockify!

TicketTailor
My new pick for selling tickets!

• Similar to Crowdwork, this has Calendar embedding and ticket selling all in one with responsive layouts. Goodbye Eventbrite.

• You can easily create custom event embeds based on keyword for displaying vents of a certain type.

• Pricing is low (yay!), but kind of confusing (boo). They do give lower pricing to charities, good causes, and low-price events — which is awesome.

• Free to use! .30-.85 cents / ticket for paid events.

Tockify

• A different kind of solution in that it syncs with Google Calendar to make those simple calendars into something more design-friendly.

• It also has options for RSVPing to events.

• $0 - $40/month

CrowdWork
My pick for theaters & comedy clubs

• Specifically created for improv comedy theaters, I am obsessed with this calendar/ticketing/event platform! You dont need eventbrite or anything else, because you can sell and display tickets all in one.

• Really pretty embedded calendar / event group options; Mobile responsive.

• Con: It’s made for theaters. I’ve worked around it to use the app for non-theaters but it can require a bit of css to hide theater-specific labels. (It’s a small company and they are open to feedback, which is very nice!)

• Great support with human beings

• Free to use! $1/ticket for paid events.
