This site is a platform dedicated to empowering professional women of color.
I loved working with Leshia Doyle - who is a writer, speaker, and advertising professional working to better the lives of women of color, especially those working in media.
Her website came to me a few hours after it was built. She initially had a DIY approach that including purchasing a one-off Squaresspace template from another designer. A few years later, however, Leshia’s business has grown and changed — and her site needed to grow and change with her.
To keep this inside of her budget, we kept her site on the older version of Squarespace (7.0) and I made live changes on the fly. Although she loved her colors and fonts, there were a lot of pages that needed a refresh and a refocus — as well as correctly and cleaning up some errors such as the incorrect fonts were displaying.
I redesigned almost all of the pages on the website - especially the Home page, changing the focus to Leshia’s plethora of speaking offerings, working quickly to get the site back to a profosisinally look - while still keeping loads of personality.
All of this was accomplished with just a few short hourly updates and as you can see, a little goes a loooong way!

The mega important Articles Page, the bread & butter of Leshia’s useful resources, was not getting a chance to shine. The “before” was stagnant, poor categorization, broken links — and actually had the wrong font! The “after” result has restored categorization, improved search, and I’ve added movement with a colorful hover effect.
