Squarespace website redesign & platform migration for the Pacific Northwest’s largest board game store!

Guardian Games has become one of the Pacific Northwest's premier destinations for board games, collectible cards (like Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering), miniatures, and role play gaming, but their old website no longer reflected the scale, energy, or expertise of the business. In fact, the previous site had become so outdated it didn't even feature the company's logo. (Yikes!) Of course, this can happen when your site is on a platform that doesn’t make it easy to update. (Sorry, Wordpress — but it’s true!) Since opening additional locations, Guardian Games needed a website that matched the welcoming experience customers know and love.

Working closely with their team, we completely redesigned and rebuilt the website from Wordpress and onto Squarespace, combining website strategy, copywriting consulting, and refreshed branding to create a site that feels every bit as fun, knowledgeable, and community-focused as the stores themselves. Along the way, I provided guidance on the development of custom iconography and helped bring greater consistency to the brand experience. The result is a fun website that celebrates Guardian Games' incredible growth and gives both longtime customers and new players a much better way to explore everything they have to offer.
